All of our candles are hand poured with care using premium ingredients, and we want you to enjoy them safely and comfortably in your home. Please take a moment to read our essential candle safety and care guidance before use.

🕯️ Burning Candles Safely

• Always place your candle on a stable, heat resistant surface or candle plate.
• Keep candles away from flammable objects, curtains, bedding, and drafts.
• Never leave a burning candle unattended.
• Keep candles out of reach of children and pets.
• Trim the wick to approximately 5–7mm before each burn to help maintain a steady flame and reduce smoke.
• Burn candles for 1–2 hours at a time for a cleaner, more even burn.
• Avoid burning candles in very small or unventilated rooms for extended periods.
• Ensure your space is properly ventilated while burning candles.
• Do not move a candle while the wax is hot or liquid.

✨ Caring For Sculptural Candles

Many Build A Candle designs are sculptural and decorative pieces as well as functional candles.

Due to their unique shapes, some candles may naturally drip wax while burning. We always recommend placing sculptural candles on a heatproof tray or dish to protect surrounding surfaces.

For the best experience:

• Avoid burning near drafts or open windows
• Never burn candles all the way to the base
• Stop use when approximately 1cm of wax remains

🌿 Fragrance & Sensitivities

Our candles are designed to gently fragrance your space using premium fragrance oils.

If you are sensitive to fragrance, smoke, or strong scents, we recommend burning candles in moderation and discontinuing use if irritation occurs.

Candles may not be suitable for individuals with asthma or respiratory sensitivities.

🧼 Handling Wax Safely

• Allow candles to cool completely before touching or moving them.
• Avoid direct contact with hot wax.
• If wax spills, allow it to cool before carefully cleaning the area.
• Keep melted wax away from fabrics, skin, and delicate surfaces.

If irritation or discomfort occurs while using your candle:

• extinguish the flame immediately
• ventilate the room
• discontinue use if symptoms continue
